What is TRX Suspension® Training?

Born in the U.S. Navy SEALS and developed by Fitness Anywhere®, Suspension Training® is a revolutionary method of leveraged bodyweight exercise. Suspension training workouts give participants an edge over conventional strength training by improving flexibility, balance and core stability at once.

TRX Suspension® Training is fast becoming  the functional training system of choice for almost every major professional sport including the National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and Major League Baseball. Many professional have added the TRX Suspension Trainer® to their strength and conditioning routines.

The benefits of Suspension Training workouts are not just applicable to athletes. Seniors can benefit from from TRX® because it enables seniors to move freely without fear of falling. Physical Therapists are using the TRX® to rehabilitate patients.

How does Suspension Training® Work?

When a body hangs from an overhead support point, such as when you hang from a pull-up bar with both hands, it’s center of gravity seeks the lowest point to the ground. If you were to let go and hold the bar with only one hand your body would tilt and rotate, once again, so that your center of gravity would hang at the lowest central point.

Exercising on the TRX® utilizes gravity and movement to generate neuromuscular responses to changes in body position and mechanical advantages.  It also integrates strength and balance into a format that taxes the nervous system at a high level and maximizes the benefits of bodyweight exercise for faster results!

The bottom line is that all fitness levels can benefit from incorporating the TRX Suspension Trainer® into their workouts. We can adjust the intensity of any exercise in three ways to customize a workout for you based on your strength, flexibility or other special needs. We do this by:

1- Changing your body angle

2- Changing your starting position relative to the anchor point

3- Changing the size and position of the body’s base of support.

The TRX® is fully portable so weather permitting we can even get your workout done in the sun!
